Cabin Sponsor Program

Our cabins hold memories—and right now, they need caretakers.

The Cabin Sponsor Program is your chance to directly support the preservation and care of one of Gaea’s most vital resources: our rustic sleeping cabins. As a sponsor, you “adopt” a cabin and commit to helping maintain it throughout the year—cleaning, minor repairs, seasonal prep, and reporting any needs that go beyond your scope.

Whether you’re an individual, a camp family, a group of friends, or an affinity circle, sponsoring a cabin is a hands-on way to give back to the land that gives us so much. You’ll receive guidance, tools, and support from Gaea’s stewardship team, and you’ll see the real, lasting impact of your efforts every time guests rest under your care.

It’s more than maintenance—it’s love in action.
And with nearly every cabin needing consistent attention, we are actively seeking new sponsors.

If you’re ready to step into deeper stewardship, this is one of the most tangible and meaningful ways to help.

Sponsor a space. Protect the magic. Keep Gaea strong.

Stewardship with Purpose

Cabin Sponsors are the caretakers of Gaea’s heartbeat—our cabins. Through commitment, community, and care, sponsors ensure our spaces remain safe, beautiful, and welcoming for all who seek connection here. Cabin Sponsorship is a unique opportunity to give back with your time, talents, and presence in a way that truly sustains the land.

Whether you’re a long-time camper or new to our family, this program invites you to step into stewardship with purpose and pride.

Who Can Sponsor?

Any group of 1–4 adults (ages 18+) can sponsor a cabin—friends, families, circles, or individuals. To join, you’ll need to attend at least three Cabin Sponsor meetings and communicate regularly with our program coordinator. Sponsors renew annually at Samhain, and returning sponsors in good standing get first priority.

Cabin Sponsors are also encouraged to join our private Facebook group for updates, work weekend details, and ongoing support.

What Sponsors Do

Sponsoring a cabin means more than sweeping the floor—though you’ll do that too! Each visit, Sponsors handle basic maintenance like cleaning, restocking supplies, mowing, and winterizing. Beyond the cabin, Sponsors commit to monthly volunteer service hours helping across the land—painting, trail work, small repairs, and more.

In season (April–October): 10 hours per cabin per month
Off season (Nov–March): 2 hours per month, with flexible rollover options

Cabin Sponsors are key players in keeping Gaea safe, functional, and thriving year-round.

Perks & Access

As a Sponsor, you’ll receive deeply discounted rates for stays and can reserve your cabin when it's not in use for events. You’ll also have secure storage space, a name plaque on your cabin, and first reservation rights for Laid Back Labor Day.

Sponsor Rate Highlights:

  • Overnight: $10 or 1 Gaea Buck

  • Tent: $5 or 0 Gaea Bucks

  • Day Use: Free

These perks are a thank-you for the hands-on work you do to support the land.

Cabin Life & Improvements

Cabin Sponsors are welcome to personalize their cabin with paint, décor, and thoughtful touches—as long as they follow Gaea’s guidelines. Privacy, safety, and inclusivity are top priorities, and all changes must be respectful of Gaea’s mission and free from religious or sexual imagery.

Want to make major improvements or repairs? We welcome proposals! Materials, budgets, and timelines can be submitted to the program coordinator for board review.

Meetings & Accountability

Sponsors meet 8 times a year on Sunday mornings during ritual weekends (check the calendar). You must attend at least 5 meetings per contract year to stay in good standing. These gatherings build community, align goals, and help us all stay on the same page.

Routine maintenance is mandatory and separate from your volunteer service. Failure to meet expectations may result in corrective action or contract termination, so clear communication is vital.
