Job Title: Assistant Caretaker
Job Type: Seasonal Contract (Begins: May 5th - TBD )
Contract Amount: $400/week

Job Summary:
The Caretaker is responsible for the maintenance and upkeep of Gaea Retreat Center, a 168-acre property owned by Earth Rising, Inc. The property is dedicated to cultural and spiritual education and is open to visitors from April to October. The Caretaker will be responsible for ensuring that the property is well-maintained and that visitors have a safe and enjoyable experience.
Job Duties:
- Perform routine maintenance and repairs on buildings and equipment.
- Maintain the grounds, including mowing, trimming, and planting.
- Manage the property's natural resources, including forests, wetlands, and waterways.
- Respond to emergencies and crisis situations, including natural disasters and medical emergencies.
- Provide customer service to visitors, including answering questions and providing information about the property.
- Ensure that visitors comply with the property's rules and regulations.
- Maintain accurate records of maintenance activities and visitor interactions.
- Other duties as assigned.
Job Requirements:
- Experience in building maintenance and repair, including knowledge of plumbing, electrical, carpentry, landscaping and equipment maintenance.
- Knowledge of land management practices, including forestry, wetland management, and water conservation.
- Ability to respond to emergency situations in a calm and effective manner.
- Excellent customer service skills.
- Strong communication and interpersonal skills.
- Ability to work independently and as part of a team.
- Valid driver's license.
- Reliable transportation.
This is a seasonal position, and pays a minimal amount. There is training available on property, and this position includes lodging in one of our cabins for the season.
